Hatfield care home to celebrate Silver Sunday

A Hatfield care home is throwing open its doors for all elderly people in the area to celebrate Silver Sunday tomorrow.

On Sunday, October 7, between 2pm and 4pm, older people from the local community and their families are invited to Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home in Tamblin Way, where the team and residents will be hosting a 1950s tea dance.

Silver Sunday is a national annual event, set up by the Sir Simon Milton Foundation that celebrates older people by hosting special events.

At the home there will be 50s frocks, an abundance of food and live entertainment.

The home’s activities leader Kim Knight said: “Silver Sunday is such a special day – it is all about our wonderful older people in the local community - and the contribution they make and have made over the years.

“In our opinion that should be celebrated in style, so please do join us for what promises to be a fabulous afternoon.”
