Pupils and staff have been Eco travellers at Howe Dell School, in Hatfield.

From a visiting explorer regaling tales of his arctic encounters with polar bear adventures, whilst families marked where their extended families live on a World Map.

Ex RAF and Red Arrow now BA pilot Paul Warwick visited the school and worked with five-year-olds in a role play of passing through customs, making their own passports and ‘getting on a plane’ to travel overseas.

Headteacher Debra Massey said: “Our facilities team even served snacks from the trolley including apples and milk, despite turbulence.”

The children also received responses from people they had sent letters to from across the world.

They also explored travel under the sea, into space and met dinosaurs, through a virtual reality Google project.

The week ended with the children dressing up as a monument, food or traditional dress from overseas.
