A CHEF, who works at Hatfield Nursing Home, cooked up a storm in a prestigious national culinary award.

Suzanne Pinney, catering manager at the Tamblin Way home, went head to head with colleagues in a 90-minute cook-off in the final of Sanctuary Care’s Chef of the Year Competition.

Suzanne’s main of pan fried salmon on a bed of seafood and herb risotto and dessert of fresh summer berries set in a grape and peach jelly served with homemade ice cream and fruit coulis, wowed the judges and won her third place and a prize of £50.

Suzanne, who has worked at the home for three years, said: “I am so pleased – it was a tough competition and everyone who entered did really well. I was so proud of my dishes and I am very happy with my win.”
