THREE men arrested on suspicion of helping a murderer bury his victim in the back garden of his home, have had the case against them dropped.
They were arrested after a dawn raid at Chelwood Avenue in Hatfield, earlier this year after Richard Clare was found guilty of slitting the throat of love rival Peter McConnell.
Clare, 38, of Fern Dells, Hatfield, is currently serving a minimum of 27 years behind bars.
During his trial Clare admitted having help digging the victim’s grave and cleaning the house in which he was killed.
Two Hatfield men, aged 17 and 48, and a 38-year-old from Hoddesdon, were released with no further action.
