A mum who dishonestly wrote a letter claiming to be her son and asking for cash to be transferred to her bank account has been spared jail.
Christine Stevens, 52, wrote to Borlase and Company Solicitors pretending to be her son Adam, asking them to transfer £4,300.
Stevens, of Link Walk, Hatfield, last week pleaded guilty to the crime, which happened between February and March 2011.
She was given a suspended 28-day prison sentence, and told to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work by magistrates.
