A SINGLE mum had a nasty surprise when she returned to her Hatfield home after seeing her parents.

On Sunday last week Jacquline Thomas enjoyed a day watching the Wimbledon men's final on TV.

But when she got back to her Manor Road property at about 7pm Ms Thomas found her glass garden table smashed to pieces, causing 100 worth of damage.

A boulder had been thrown over her 7ft fence in what she calls a "deliberate" attack by youths.

The mum to five-year-old Xavia said: "If myself or my daughter had been standing there we would have been seriously injured.

"There is glass everywhere."

She added: "I believe it was deliberate and I think it was youths.

"Somebody must know something and I hope that person will call the police."
