A Hatfield man has been jailed after he was caught out and about with bolt cutters and a torch.

Kevin Zaremba, 24, has been jailed for 12 weeks after he was found guilty of having both items in the course of, or in connection with theft in Welwyn Garden City on July 22 2017.

Zaremba also admitted failing to turn up at court twice in August last year, once in October last year and again in November this year.

Furthermore, he admitted resisting a PC in the execution of his duty in Mountway, Potters Bar, on July 28 last year.

During his appearance at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on November 28, he was jailed for 12 weeks.

Magistrates considered the offences to be especially serious given the pattern of offending.

Zaremba, of Brain Close, was ordered to pay victim services £115.

He was also ordered to pay £750 court costs.

Zaremba will be paying a total of £865 at a rate of £5 per month, commencing in February next year.
