A 20-year old man was robbed of his Rolex when jogging along Alban Way footpath, near Middlefield, Hatfield.

Police are now appealing for information and witnesses of the incident, which happened over two weeks ago, on July 27, between 8pm and 8:45pm.

The victim was jogging along the footpath when a man approached him and demanded he hand over his watch.

Initially the victim refused, but the man then threatened him, so the watch, a Rolex Bi-Metal Datejust, with a gold and steel strap, and a grey with face Roman numerals, was handed over.

The offender is described as a white man, in his late 30s, of stocky build and around 5ft 8. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood pulled up around his face, and navy tracksuit bottoms.

PC Sarah Lane is investigating the incident, and said: “Thankfully the victim wasn’t injured during the robbery but understandably has been left unnerved by what happened.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, saw someone matching the offender’s description around the time of the robbery or has been offered the watch for sale.

“If you have any information in relation to this incident, please contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information contact PC Sarah Lane via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B2/15/2808.
