A STAGGERING £12,500 has been raised at a charity event in memory of a WGC teenager.
The six-a-side tournament, raffle, auction and family fun day raised the large sum for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Hatfield Hyde Cricket Club.
The event is held annually in memory of player Oli Mills, who died of a brain tumour aged just 18, in 2005.
Oli’s brother and club captain Eddie Mills said: “The day was an amazing success and one that exceeded all our expectations.
“The money raised will mean an awful lot to the Teenage Cancer Trust in their quest for more units and allow the cricket club to invest in their future.
“A big thanks to the local businesses and people who attended on the day for their support, without which this wouldn’t have been possible.”
Junior tournament winners were WGC under-10s, who beat WGC under-11s in the final.
The senior tournament was won by Lionhearts, who beat Old Xavs from Liverpool in their final.
