An annual Christmas market has been hailed “the best ever” by organisers.

Each year the Old Riding School on the Hatfield House estate hosts a festive fair run by the Welwyn Hatfield Conservative Association in conjunction with WGC-based Isabel Hospice.

About 40 stalls took part in this year’s market selling a wide range of products.

It attracted around 1,500 people.

Profits from the market are split equally between the Welwyn Hatfield Conservative Association and Isabel Hospice.

Over the years the Christmas Market has raised more than £100,000 for the hospice.

Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps said: “As a patron of the Isabel Hospice, it was great to see so many people attending the market and helping support the hospice.

“I would of course, like to thank everyone who attended and the dozens of people behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to make it the success it was.”
