THE rain may have threatened to turn the night into a damp squib, but thousands of people enjoyed the firework display at Hatfield House.
Record numbers arrived at the stately home in dismal weather, ready to enjoy the Guy Fawkes Night extravaganza.
The event was raising funds for Welwyn Hatfield mayor Howard Morgan’s chosen charities, The Mixed Group and Help for Heroes.
And lessons were learned from last year’s inaugural display – traffic issues which affected plenty both getting in and out of the site were non-existent this time, with more entrances and exits set up.
For an in-depth story on this and more pictures, see this week’s Welwyn Hatfield Times, out tomorrow (Wednesday).
