Bosses have decided to close a Hatfield hotel, putting several jobs at risk.

The 20-bedroom hotel at the David Lloyd gym on the Hatfield Business Park, which employs six part-time workers, will close on

October 15.

The staff affected are going through a consultation, but the company hopes to keep as many as possible within the business.

A spokeswoman said: “David Lloyd Hatfield constantly strives to deliver market-leading health and fitness facilities to its members at all times, and has recently undergone a significant £1.3 million investment programme.

“As part of an on-going business review, we have recently taken the decision to close the hotel at our club in Mosquito Way, so that we can focus on our core state-of-the-art health, fitness and racquets products to ensure that we continue to offer the very best leisure facilities in the area.

“The conference and meeting business will continue to operate as normal, offering a high standard of meeting facilities to local organisations and groups.”

David Lloyd Hatfield employs over 90 people across all its facilities.
