The Galleria in Hatfield is encouraging people to refill their water bottles in their shops, in a bid to reduce plastic waste.
Look out for stickers saying “Refill Me” in the windows of shops at the Hatfield Galleria next time you’re feeling thirsty.
The Galleria has unveiled a new green initiative, ‘Refill Me’, which allows shoppers to easily identify where reusable water bottles can be refilled with no obligation to buy anything from the retailer.
Since the campaign launched last week, a total of 11 shops have signed up to take part, including Odeon, Pizza Express, Nando’s, Prezzo, Harvester, Chiquito, Frankie & Benny’s, Real China, Bella Italia, Costa and Caffe Nero.
The initiative aims at reducing single-use plastic consumption, as part of the centre’s wider green strategy.
The Galleria is owned and managed by Landsec, which is rolling the ‘Refill Me’ programme out across all of its centres nationwide.
Sustainability manager Tom Byrne commented: “Refill Me is a brilliant way of reducing the amount of waste we produce from single-use plastics.
“We’re really excited to be able to offer our guests a sustainable shopping experience.”
