HATFIELD Town Football Club will be starting three new youth teams thanks to a 2,000 grant from a Hertfordshire county councillor.
Cllr Stuart Pile, who represents Hatfield South, allocated the money from his locality budget.
The grant will pay for new kit and equipment for over 40 children between the ages of eight and 17 years old.
Cllr Pile said: “I am delighted to support the development of youth teams in Hatfield.
“Hatfield Town Football Club is doing great work across all ages, bringing sport to kids who might otherwise not take part in team competitions.”
A total of 10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of the county council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.
