A resolute Hatfield councillor has revealed she has been threatened with legal action by a property developer whose plans she helped thwart.

A law firm acting for a subsidiary of Fusion Students owning The Comet Hotel in Hatfield has claimed borough and town councillor Caron Juggins’ made “innacurate and misleading statements” at a planning committee on February 4, leading to costs of more than £1million.

But councillor Juggins has said she has no intention of apologising for her allegedly defamatory remarks.
