A Hatfield care home’s residents have channelled their inner child and created a Halloween-themed grotto for a special event this month.

Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home in Tamblin Way will hold a Halloween ball on Tuesday, October 31, when its residents will don masks they have created together.

They will also soak up the fun in a specially-decorated grotto.

Amy Hall, activities assistant at the home, said: “Our residents love Halloween as it is something they haven’t always celebrated.

“Creating the masks and Halloween grotto has been great fun and we are really looking forward to the ball.”

Also at the home, run by Sanctuary Care, there will be an abundance of gems, glitter and vibrant feathers adorning the premises.

Resident Ivy Woodward, 91, said: “It is just so wonderfully decorated.”
