A SERIAL car thief from Hatfield has been jailed for a year.
Michael Forbes, of Birchwood Avenue, was arrested and charged last week with attempted theft of a car in Byfield, WGC, between June 12 and 13.
Appearing before magistrates in Hatfield, the 22-year-old, also known as MJ, pleaded guilty to the offence and asked for seven similar offences to be taken into consideration.
He was sentenced to four months as well as having his prison licence revoked, meaning he will serve out the remaining eight months of a previous sentence behind bars.
He is set to be released in June 2010.
Pc Ben Satchfield, who arrested Forbes, said: "We hope the arrest of Forbes will make a significant difference to the Welwyn Hatfield community.
