Archant

Burglars have struck Hatfield homes four times in the last few days, with one daring intruder fleeing from a bedroom after waking his victim from sleep.

The man, clad entirely in black and wearing gloves, escaped from a home in Goldings Crescent at about 3am on Monday, with five stolen jackets, a mobile phone and a wallet.

Another crook wearing a grey hooded top was seen clambering over a gate from a back garden in Foxglove Close at about 7.20pm the same evening, after ransacking two bedrooms.

Also on Monday, an intruder forced his way into a garden shed in Lea Green at about 1.30am, although nothing was taken.

Between Saturday and Wednesday, a burglar got in through the back window of a home in Bishops Rise, although again nothing was taken.

Police hope anybody with information will call officers on the non-emergency number 101.
