A large amount of blood discovered in a public toilet in Hatfield prompted a police investigation over the weekend.

Officers were called by a worried member of the public, who found a big pool of blood in the disabled toilet close to Queensway House in Hatfield.

The building was sealed off – but a check with the ambulance service revealed someone had hit their head by accident, and no crime had been committed.

Specialist cleaners were called in.

A police spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “The call came in on Saturday.

“There was a large amount of blood in the disabled toilet. Following queries we found there was someone who banged their head, it was not suspicious.”
