HAVING a birthday once every four years may seem like a drag - but for these two girls it makes their day even more special.
The pair were both born in leap years on February 29.
It's only the second time soon-to-be eight-year-old Kayleigh Plumb has celebrated her real birthday.
And mum Nicky, of Broadwater Crescent, WGC, said: "She finds it really odd.
"Last year she got quite upset because she didn't have a day on the calendar.
"But this year she is so excited."
The youngster, who dances, swims, goes to brownies and attends Creswick School, is getting ready for a pottery painting class to celebrate her big day.
Danielle Kentsley is also celebrating this Friday as she turns sweet 16.
The youngster said schoolfriends joke that she's only four but she just takes it in her stride.
"I'm used to it, it doesn't really make a difference," she said.
The Stanborough School pupil said she did not really want a big fuss, but mum Tracey Hutchinson has different ideas.
Tracey, of Heronswood Road, WGC, said: "We're doing something extra special this year, we're having a big family party.
"We usually celebrate her birthday on the 28th to keep it in February," the mum-of-three added.
"The date didn't really occur to me when she was born, it wasn't until the midwife told me.
"I think it's special. Nobody forgets her birthday.
