Gunman who threatened 13-year-old boy on the loose after Hatfield robbery

A GUNMAN is on the loose after a robbery at a Hatfield shop.
The fugitive, was said to have held up a 13-year-old boy with a pistol at Martin’s newsagent, in High View, this morning (Thursday).
He was described as “a white male of approximately 5ft 10ins tall and of a medium build.
“He was wearing black clothing, a blue, black and white stripped scarf over his face and dark glasses.” A police spokeswoman said: “The incident occurred at around 6am at Martins in High View when an offender went into the shop, threatened staff with what is believed to have been a hand gun and demand they hand over money.
“The offender has left the scene with cash heading towards Bishops Rise.
“No one has been injured during the incident.”
Detective Constable Geraldine Ward from the Local Crime Unit at Hatfield Police Station is investigating and said: “Officers were immediately deployed to the area in attempts to trace the offender. They remain in the area at this time but I would urge anyone who believes they have seen the suspect at any point this morning to contact police without delay.”
