A man remains in hospital after being seriously injured in an incident in Hatfield.

A 43-year-old man sustained ‘life-changing’ injuries to his hand in the attack in The Minims, Hatfield on Tuesday, March 15.

Ambulance services were called at 1.44pm, and sent an ambulance crew, an ambulance officer and a Herts and Essex Air Ambulance.

The man was treated on the scene before being airlifted to a London hospital for further treatment.

Eugene Bruce, 45, of Greville Close, Welham Green, was charged with GBH wounding with intent, and appeared before Hatfield Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 17.

He was remanded in custody and has been sent for trial at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday, April 14.
