A CHARITY golf day has raised almost £5,000 for an Old Hatfield-based charity.
The Herts Young Homeless Group (HYHG) held its annual fundraiser at Mill Green Golf Course, and saw 70 golfers in 18 teams tee off in support of the Salisbury Square charity, which supports young people aged 16 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
As well as a full 18-hole round, a raffle and auction was also held, with prizes ranging from a signed Arsenal football to a round of golf for four at exclusive clubs Brocket Hall, Hanbury Manor and Dryham Park.
The event was sponsored by Sainsbury’s in Potters Bar, and staff from the Darkes Lane supermarket were on hand to hand out refreshments at the halfway house.
In total, the event raised £4,700 for Herts Young Homeless Group.
HYHG’s marketing and development manager Jenny Rawlings said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s annual golf day.
“It was a great success and we raised over £4,700, topping last year’s amount.”
