A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl was found alone, wearing just a nappy, in the middle of a WGC street.

The tot was taken in by residents, who found the child “shivering” in the freezing conditions in Knella Road, on Monday morning.

A man who helped find the youngster, clothed her and called police.

The 23-year-old said: “She was shivering where it was so cold. It’s lucky she didn’t get hit by a car or kidnapped.

The police did some door knocking and must have found the mum. But how bad is it not knowing your child is missing?

“I’m glad she was okay in the end.”

A police spokeswoman said they were called at 10.40am by the residents and located the family “shortly after” and then “reunited” them.

She added that the child had not previously been reported missing.
