THE time has come to dig out your walking shoes again.

Yes anticipation of the 11th Rotary Walk has already started and as spring approaches us, the preparations are already well under way for the annual walk.

Organised by the local Rotary Clubs it is to be held on Sunday May 10th and stretches across Times Territory.

Walkers can choose to take either a leisurely five mile stroll along the Lee Valley or a slightly more challenging 11 mile route passing through Ayot St Lawrence and the Lee Valley.

People of all ages, from absolute beginners to more committed regular walkers, will be able to successfully complete one of the two routes.

All entry fees will be channelled through the Rotary Clubs to charities but walkers are also invited to seek sponsorship for their efforts and raise money for the charity of their choice.

Organisers of local charities are invited to contact the walk organisers to see how their charity can benefit from involvement with the walk.

Rotarian John Hopley said: "What started eleven years ago as a one off event is now an eagerly awaited date on the annual calendar with over 220,000 being raised for charity.

"So folks, over to you - why not come along, stretch your legs, shed a few inches, gather the health benefits and help a local charity, all whilst enjoying an hour or two in our delightful local countryside.
