A company donated nearly £8,000 to the Friends of RSPCA Southridge, which is based in Packhorse Lane Ridge near Potters Bar.

St Albans-based company Synergy Financial Productions Limited has handed over a cheque for £7,834.47 to the Friends of RPSCA Southridge.

The charity was nominated for the donation by the company’s compliance officer Mark Turner.

He said: “It was lovely and heart-warming to see your animals being so well looked after especially as many have had such a poor start in life.

“We were also interested to hear of the challenges you face not just in keeping your excellent facilities in such good condition but your constant drive to develop and improve them.

“I nominated yourselves for our donation because I believe in what the RSPCA does not just in terms of looking after the animals on your site but also in terms of the wider work you do in trying to improve animal welfare.”

The money will go towards the Friends’ Pensioners Scheme, which helps animals that cannot be re-homed, either because of age or medical conditions, into foster homes.
