STUDENTS and staff at Sherrardswood School in Welwyn are celebrating after a "stunning" set of GCSE results.

For the third year running, pupils have received a 100 per cent pass rate in five A* to C grades.

And 38 per cent of those were A* and A grades.

Drama results were outstanding with 43 per cent of the GCSE group gaining A* and the rest gaining A grades.

Lynda Corry, headteacher of the Lockleys school, said the results topped the excellent achievements of the past two years, and followed on from the 100 per cent pass rate in last week's A-level results.

She added: "Our students have achieved absolutely fabulous results, reflecting their hard work and commitment.

"They can be justifiably proud of their achievements."
