MORE than 2,000 was raised for charity when the owners of an idyllic riverside property opened their gardens to the public.

Margaret Knight, who lives at the Mill House, in Tewin, invited the public to tour her beautiful riverside gardens in aid of the WGC-based Isabel Hospice.

Mrs Knight was a long-time friend of the late Isabel Last, the founder of the hospice and decided to open her garden in Isabel’s memory.

Renee Friend, the chairman of the hospice’s fundraising support group, thanked Margaret for opening her gardens.

She added: “We need to raise over 4 million this year, and so events like this are vital to our fundraising activities.”
