A Welwyn Garden City-based charity swung into action with a golf day fundraiser for women.

Nearly 60 Isabel Hospice supporters putt themselves forward to help the charity, which supports adults with life-limiting illnesses, at the event earlier this month at Mid Herts Golf Club.

Par-ticularly good performers were Liz Needham and Liz Keenan, from Brookmans Park Golf Club, who came first with 46 points, while Liz Keenan won ‘nearest to the pin’, and longest drive went to Sally Brown.

Event organiser Jan Leggetter said: “We are very grateful to Mid Herts for their generosity, hospitality and support in helping us to raise money for such a worthy cause, and we thank them very sincerely.

“The ladies had a very nice day with the sun shining on us all day playing on the course which was in excellent condition.”

A total of £2,245 was raised from the event, and Cheryl Cusack, of Isabel Hospice, said: “Thanks once again to Jan for raising significant funds for us. This total would cover the cost of 26 visits to our day-care services.”
