THE number of allotments in Times Territory has been a problem for some time now, but a garden centre has gone some way to finding the solution.
Codicote Garden Centre, in High Street, has created around 100 new plots for green fingered residents wishing to grow their own produce, from just 5 a week.
Councillor John Warwick, chairman of Codicote Parish Council’s environment committee, opened the new Grow your Own plots along with garden centre manager Don Ellwood and plot owner Lesley Tracey.
Mr Ellwood said: “We’re meeting a real demand for plots from people in the community and we’re offering them the chance to grow their own with a little help from us.”
For more information about the new plots, call Codicote Garden Centre on 01438 820433.
