THOUSANDS of people descended on a sleepy village on the bank holiday weekend for the fun and games of the fair.
Even the sun made an appearance for the Burnham Green village fete which was boosted by an impressive aerobatic Spitfire performance.
Highlights from Monday’s annual event also included an impressive produce collection and a barbecue, alongside all the traditional fete activities from rides, the coconut shy and, of course, the beer tent.
A resident said: “I couldn’t believe the amount of people. The village was full and everyone seemed to enjoy the day. The White Horse pub by the green was also booming.
“However, despite enjoying my stroll round the fair, I thought it best to give the rides a miss, they looked a bit scary! I did enjoy an ice cream though, as well as locally sourced food – there was plenty to match the traditional attractions.”
