HUNDREDS of runners, joggers and walkers raised thousands of pounds for charity at a sponsored fun run.

The third annual Hearts First Jog at Knebworth House attracted around 750 people of all ages.

Between them, they raised an estimated £33,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Children, adults, a fancy dress lion and dog walkers all joined in as the dry weather held on Sunday.

They were encouraged by hundreds of spectators as they made their way around either a five or 10km course in the grounds of Knebworth House.

BHF regional events organiser Adam Brockett said: "It was a great day and thankfully not muddy like last year.

"Again we had good support from Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre who did the warm up, and we had all sorts of people, which we like to encourage.

"I would like to point out that the entrance fee is for administration costs and if people want to support us they have to have sponsorship.
