A VILLAGE festival is well under way with around 1,000 visitors to the first two events.

A fete took place in Knebworth on Saturday and a family fun day took place on Sunday.

Festival chairman Brian Worthington said: "It was as good, if not better than last year.

"People could play or just sit down and relax, it was a nice family relaxing day."

The festival continues for the rest of the week, culminating in a concert in the banquet hall at Knebworth House, on Saturday evening.

Villagers will get a guided tour of the grounds and a preview of a new set of sculptures, as well as a recital of popular classical music by Ingrid Jacoby.

For ticket information visit Village News on Station Road.
