A group of furious residents protested outside Welwyn Hatfield Council's offices over plans to charge for brown bin collections.

More than 20 people gathered with ‘no bin tax’ posters on Saturday, following the borough council’s plans to introduce charges of up to £70 for garden and food waste collections.

The proposals have sparked criticism from residents and opposition councillors, and two motions to scrap the plans were rejected last week.
