Welwyn Garden City residents have voiced outrage after several incidents of teenagers throwing stones at cars and property.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called on Saturday after youths threw stones at a coach in Swallowfields near B&Q at around 7.30pm.

She added there were no passengers and the driver continued on his journey.

On the same evening, yobs launched stones at the Sea Cadets’ building in Bridge Road East, causing two panes to shatter.

The two incidents are currently not being linked, although that may change, the spokeswoman added.

Several parents claimed on social media to have recently witnessed similar acts across town, with some demanding police step up efforts to tackle teenagers’ antisocial behaviour.

But others said officers were doing all they could, adding the real onus was on parents to properly discipline their children.
