PSYCHEDELIC funk rockers Gekko will be performing in Hitchin next week.
The three-piece are Mark Sullivan (vocals, guitar), Justin Beattie (bass, vocals) and John Budge (drums).
Formed in Stevenage in 1999, the band describe their first gig, where they played in front of 250 people at Knebworth, as a "baptism of fire".
Since then, the trio have gone on to play more than 150 gigs, including a support slot with WGC rockers The Subways.
They have also performed at a number of festivals, including Stevenage's Rock in the Park, Mayfest and Togfest.
Influenced by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Red Hot Chilli Peppers among others, the group's "psychedelic funk rock sound" is definitely worth a listen.
