A pub quiz has been planned in Welwyn to raise money for disability charity United Response.

Nikki Cowen, who is organising the event for the third year in a row, will host it at The Steamer pub in London Road, on Saturday, March 25.

Starting at 7.30pm, there will be five rounds on different topics, including sport, television and music – with entry costing £3 per person for teams of up to six.

The winners will receive a free round of drinks from the pub.

All money raised from the quiz and raffle will go towards United Response’s Gombards service, a local care home based in Welwyn, which supports adults with complex needs.

Nikki said: “Over the past two years, we’ve had fantastic fun and raised an amazing amount of money for the Gombards service.

“In the past we have used the money to develop the garden which can be enjoyed by people we support and their families.

“Our work has included developing a sensory section of the garden for people with complex needs, which is a wonderful addition to our service.

“We have lots of exciting ideas for developing the garden further, but it will only be possible with the help of our community.”
