A FUEL tanker set alight on the M25 near Potters Bar this morning (Thursday) sparking a road closure and an emergency response.

The cab of the HGV set ablaze at roughly 6.30am between junctions 25 and 24 anti-clockwise.

Fire crews managed to quell the flames by 7.48am.

The road was closed while London firefighters joined Herts’ crews to fight the blaze.

Motorists are now being hit with delays of up to one hour and a half, with normal driving conditions expected to return by 11am.
