Archant

A Hatfield care home enjoyed a fruity afternoon to promote healthy eating in the new year.

Residents and staff at Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home spent the day making smoothies to blow away the January blues.

The day was organised to show the fun ways of sticking to a healthy diet.

Mary Tolladay, manager of the Tamblin Way care home, said: “Eating healthy often has a bad reputation for being boring and we wanted to change this, we wanted to show everyone that if we can do it so can you.”

Resident Olive Coles, 88, said: “It was so much fun, the drinks were fab – I even took a picture of all of us with the smoothies to put on my wall.”
