Free WiFi is now available throughout Welwyn Garden City town centre.
Most of the town centre – from Parkway to the Howard Centre, Wigmores South and North, Stonehills, Fretherne Road and Church Road – has coverage and fantastic download speeds, courtesy of Welwyn Garden City Business Improvement District (BID).
It also comes paired with GEO-sense, which monitors footfall in the town centre.
This system is more insightful than the simple footfall cameras or counters.
WGC BID chairman OJ Daya said: “Having access to free WiFi is essential for a thriving business community in today’s marketplace.
“The network will also prove an invaluable resource in supporting the BID’s work to further understand and monitor how the town centre is used for WGC to prosper and grow.
“Activities that require an internet connection are no longer confined to home or the office - access to the digital world is now easier than ever whilst out and about in Wonderful Welwyn Garden City.”

1. Enable Wi-Fi on your device.
2. Select the network Welwyn Garden City FREE WiFi.
3. A login page will appear. Enter your details, select your preferences and CONNECT.
Registration is only required once; afterwards your device will automatically connect to Welwyn Garden City FREE WiFi whenever it is in range.
