Hatfield’s Birchwood Dental Practice is doing its bit for Mouth Cancer Action Month, by offering free mouth screenings for oral cancer.
MCAM aims to get mouth cancer diagnosed at an early stage by increasing education of the risk factors, signs and symptoms, in the month of November.
Hatfield’s Birchwood Dental Practise will be taking part by offering patients and the public free mouth screenings for oral cancer.
Dipak Patal, dentist and owner of the surgery, said: “We are passionate about raising awareness of mouth cancer, which is on the increase.
“To help raise the awareness, we screen all our patients for mouth cancer, inform them of the potential and provide prompt referral for the ones we suspect of mouth cancer.”
The dental practice will have an open surgery, tomorrow (Wednesday, November 4) between 2pm to 4pm.
Mr Patal added: “This is an opportunity, for those patients who have not visited a dentist recently, to have their mouth screened for oral cancer.
“This is a free service where one of our dentists, Dr Rushil Lachhani, will examine the patient for oral cancer and advise on the risk factors.”
