Older, vulnerable and disabled residents in the Welwyn Hatfield borough can get a free one-off gardening visit.

The Green Aiders project is a scheme which helps the elderly, vulnerable and disabled take back control of their garden and make it more accessible and presentable.

The scheme is run by community charity Groundwork Hertfordshire and funded by Welwyn Hatfield Community Housing Trust and Welwyn Hatfield Counci.

A spokeswoman for Groundwork said: “Through a one-off visit, dedicated volunteers and friendly Groundwork staff get gardens back under control and make them more manageable, safer and more pleasant to spend time in.”

If you or someone you know could benefit from a Green Aiders visit, contact Stephen on 01707 255 178 or stephen.windmill@groundwork.org.uk.
