BESTSELLING spy novelist Frederick Forsyth has suggested US intelligence should employ UFO hacker Gary McKinnon.

With today (Friday) being the day that new James Bond movie Skyfall is on general release, Forsyth’s comments couldn’t be better timed.

In his regular column in the Daily Express, the Day of the Jackal author who lives near Times Territory, in East End Green, Hertford asked: “If he can do that to the USA think what he could do for them against the Russian and Chinese databases.

“Why not employ him?”

The comment piece added: “Exactly how he broke through the most clever and expensive firewalls the USA has ever created has never been explained.”

The author praised Home Secretary Theresa May for refusing to extradite Mr McKinnon to the USA.

The 46-year-old was spared being spirited to the US last week, ending his 10 year nightmare and much to the relief of his mother Janis Sharp, who lives in Brookmans Park.
