FORMER Welwyn Hatfield councillor Dr Dennis Lewis is recuperating at home following a mini-stroke.
The popular pensioner suffered a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) while getting ready to attend a Conservative Party dinner at WGC Golf Club.
He was taken by ambulance to the QE2 Hospital following the attack – caused by a temporary fall in the blood supply to the brain – and is now convalescing at his home in The Links, WGC.
Echoing the famous words of American author Mark Twain, the jovial 80-year-old said: “Rumours of my passing are highly exaggerated.”
