FORMER Queenswood student Naomi Cavaday has missed the chance to secure a singles place in the main draw at Wimbledon, but could still claim a lucky loser spot.
The left hander made the last round of qualifying at the Bank of England Sports Ground in Roehampton, London.
However, the 20-year-old was beaten 7-5, 6-2 by Russian Vesna Manasieva yesterday (Thursday).
The ex-tennis scholar at the Brookmans Park school made the sports headlines during last year's competition at SW19.
Cavaday lost to five times Wimbledon ladies' singles champion Venus Williams on Centre Court.
