Former Hertfordshire man stabbed to death in Portugal

A British national from Hertfordshire has been stabbed to death in a village in the Algarve.
The 58-year-old man is thought to have originally come from Welwyn Garden City.
He died in the village of Alcoutim after reportedly being stabbed in the abdomen with a spear.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office said: “We are in contact with local authorities following the death of a British national in the Algarve and are ready to provide consular assistance.”
