A SUSPECTED burglary is currently being investigated this afternoon (Monday) in Welwyn Garden City.

Police forensics officers are on the scene in Wigmores North after a crook tried to gain entry to a business premises.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Officers are currently investigating a suspected attempted burglary at a business address on Wigmores North.

“Police received a report of damage caused to the front door of the property at 2.28pm today.

However, it is believed that no access was gained by the offender or offenders.”

He added: “The investigation is in its early stages and no further details are available at this time.”
