A ROAD has been closed in Welwyn due to severe flooding.
The Great North Road near the A1(M) junction six off the Clock hotel roundabout has been closed since midnight.
The dual carriageway towards Oaklands was closed after it became impassable.
A Hertfordshire Highways spokesman said: "Police ordered the road to be closed at midnight.

"Due to the build up of water, extra debris has also been washed into the flood.
"Jets and sweeping equipment is now being used, but run off water from nearby fields is overwhelming."
He added: "They hope to get one lane open by 5pm.
