Five thugs attack teenager in Potters Bar park

A Potters Bar mum is furious after her 16-year-old son was jumped by a group of men in Potters Bar.

Officers were called to Oakmere Park yesterday at around 9.22pm following reports that the teenager was walking with his friend before being approached by the thugs.

The group, described as five men in their 20s with hoods up, then demanded money, and when the victim refused, they attacked him.

His mum told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “They were attacked by five people jumping out of the bushes.

“Three punched and kicked my son and held his arms down, the other lad had the big bloke trying to attack him, but he was OK.

“I’m bloody furious. Twenty-year-olds attacking the smallest of the two 16-year-olds and trying to mug him makes my blood boil.”

A police spokeswoman urged anyone with information to contact officers via non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 739 of 5/11.
