Firms sentenced after woman falls from Welwyn Garden City high ropes

Two firms were sentenced at St Albans Crown Court after a woman plummeted from a Welwyn Garden City high ropes course in 2013.
Welwyn Hatfield Leisure Ltd, which trades as Finesse Leisure Partnership Ltd, and Closer To The Edge (CTTE) both pleaded guilty to breaching health and safety regulations yesterday.
Finesse, which was running the Stanborough Park course, was fined £33,000, while CTTE, which had been sought by Finesse for its expertise with high ropes facilities, was fined £30,000.
Each also had to pay £52,503 legal costs.
